  1. v1.22.0 — One banner size everywhere + the bento Powered-up card 🖼️

v1.22.0 — One banner size everywhere + the bento Powered-up card

    Highlights

The bento Powered-up card. Plus rows on wide screens are now a bento card: the server's banner sits as a framed 768×192 tile inside the card — bordered, radiused, shadowed, with breathing room — and nothing ever overlays it, so owners can put their own promotional text or an animated GIF showcase in the art. To the right, the pane stacks the identity row (rank · game icon · name), the owner's slogan as real indexable text, then tags with the heart count. Below 1500px the card stacks back to banner-on-top at a fluid 16:6.

One banner size across the entire site. Every server card that renders the shared banner now uses one canonical geometry (--server-card-banner-w: 768px, --server-card-h: 192px): a single uploaded asset renders pixel-identically on /games, For-You, and the game hubs. The one-per-page hero surfaces (Daily Spotlight, homepage spotlight, server profile hero) remain deliberately full-bleed.

For-You joins the games-page shell. The For-You page now renders the same ranked-list layout as /games — same cards, same widths, same Plus treatment.

Blueprint media templates. The old ad-hoc placeholder banners are gone. The media pack now ships generated blueprint/template images at exact spec — banner (1280×720 with both the 4:1 wide-card and 16:6 stacked crop bands drawn on), logo icon (256×256), and profile hero — each downloadable from the dashboard's Media tab. Regenerate any time with pnpm media:templates.

  2. v1.21.0 — Bigger Eski, peekaboo cards & new poses 🐕

Eski gets bigger, peeks over cards, and learns three new tricks.

    128px minimum, everywhere

Eski never renders smaller than 128×128 — below that his pixel-art features get lost. Enforced as a hard floor in the component itself, with every placement, responsive breakpoint, and container resized to match (the compact game-hero card, podium, toast crop and porthole ring all grew to fit him properly).

    Peekaboo cards (EskiPeek)

A new eski-top-peak sprite — paws hooked over a card's top edge, face just above it — with owner-tuned geometry locked into one shared rule. Live on:

    • /changelog — he peeks over the "New on MMOLove" announcement
    • /blog — he peeks over the weekly digest card
    • /games — he peeks over the filter empty state
    • Player HQ — he peeks over the first-run welcome card

Any moment card can now opt in with one prop (layout="peek"), and there's a shy variant that shows only his ears until you hover.

    Three new poses

    • 😴 sleep — curled under his blanket on the vote-cooldown state
    • 💫 dizzy — seeing stars on the error page
    • 👋 wave — greeting you on the sign-in rail and the onboarding welcome step

    Tidy-ups

    • The back-to-top orb is a clean circle again (the head-peek came off)
    • Vote surfaces standardise on the heart pose — it was drawn for exactly that
  3. v1.20.0 — Eski everywhere 🐕

Eski is everywhere now. Wave 3 turns the mascot into a full design language: a 12-primitive component library, wired across ~25 surfaces site-wide.

    The library

GameHeroCard (per-game key-art banners with costume Eski + a drop-in /games/heroes/<slug>.jpg art convention) · EskiMomentCard (celebrations, empty states, quiet heroes, loading) · EskiCallout · EskiToast · EskiPodium · EskiDivider · EskiPorthole · EskiBand (CTA + diagonal event bands) · EskiChoicePanel · EskiPack · EskiFooterEgg · EskiScrollTop — all with Storybook stories, tests, and reduced-motion-safe animation.

    Where you'll meet him

    • Browse: per-game hero banner on /games, For-You top-game hero on /discover, homepage recommended-game peek, filter empty states
    • Player HQ: streak-milestone card, "Your pack" cluster, first-run + Discord nudges, voted-servers empty state
    • Owner dashboard: setup-checklist encouragement + completion celebration, "Ready to go live?" publish moment
    • Marketing: owner CTA band, heart-run rhythm dividers, methodology quiet closer, blog byline + newsletter card, changelog announcements
    • Moments: claim success, checkout success, rewind, unsubscribe, spotlight & awards heroes, vote cooldown
    • Chrome: a footer easter egg, a back-to-top orb with a hover peek, and brand-new error + loading pages

    Under the hood

    • Composition rules 9–14 (attention vector, visual weight, asymmetric balance, rhythm, proximity) codified in the design law and applied throughout
    • Blind-reviewed: 0 blockers; one-Eski-per-view enforced across every touched surface
    • 2,806 tests green · production build clean
  4. v1.19.0 — Meet Eski, the Heartkeeper 🐕

Say hi to Eski, the Heartkeeper — MMOLove's pixel-art mascot, now woven across the product. Measured and one-per-view: bold on the moments that matter, quiet everywhere else.

    Where you'll meet him

    • The Heartkeeper page — rebranded to Eski, the Heartkeeper, with Eski standing hero-sized on the panel floor.
    • Give a heart → success — Eski celebrates every vote.
    • Your first sign-in — a warm welcome greeter.
    • Empty & dead-end states — the servers empty state, a game hub with no listings yet, the 404, and the "check your email" page all now have Eski.
    • Referrals — a megaphone Eski on your referral panel.

    Under the hood

    • A reusable <Eski> component (10 poses) that renders crisp pixel art at any size and faces inward by design.
    • Full asset wishlist for what's next — per-game costume skins (Poring, Murloc, Party Hat, …) — captured in docs/eski-mascot-assets.md.

    No breaking changes. 🐕💗

  5. v1.18.0 — Your servers, reimagined + one-click create

The My Servers tab is now a clean control panel: each server you own shows as a stat card — its game icon, this-month hearts, rank, and quick jumps to Edit, Analytics, and Plan — with a + Create a server tile right in the grid.

Creating a server is now a guided modal that opens right over your servers (no more separate page): step through details → tags → plan without losing your place. Every 'add a server' link across the site now lands here, and the old /dashboard/new page redirects in.

  6. v1.17.1 — Description card repositioned

Refines the new server-description layout: the description now sits in the main column directly under the screenshots (rather than a full-width row under the hero), and the profile content is a touch wider to give it more room.

  7. v1.17.0 — Server descriptions, front and centre 💗

A server's description is now the centrepiece of its page — full-width, right under the hero, where owners can make their server stand out with rich formatting, images and headers.

Editing happens inline (no pop-up): owners get a Markdown source view they can write and paste into, a Preview to see exactly how it'll look, and a floating toolbar for bold/headings/links/images and more — with Save and a safe close that warns before losing unsaved edits.

  8. v1.16.0 — Cleaner Games menu, one-click full catalogue

The Games menu is tidier: the grid now shows just the games, and a clear "View all games" button sits in the footer — so the full catalogue is always one click, on any page.

  9. v1.15.0 — Browse-all-games always one click, tidier footer

The Games menu now always shows All games as the very first tile on every page — no more paging to find the link to the full catalogue. And the site footer is tightened up: the same links and info, in a more compact, easier-to-scan layout.

  10. v1.14.0 — Pixel-art worlds on the home & blog

The homepage hero now sweeps across hand-drawn pixel-art fantasy worlds — a sunset citadel with airships, a fleet sailing above the clouds, a windswept battlefield — behind the headline, while the copy stays crisp and readable.

The blog gets the same treatment: every post now wears one of these rich pixel-art banners instead of a plain placeholder, so the Guides & Stories page finally looks the part.

  11. v1.13.1 — World of Warcraft, in full colour

World of Warcraft now shows its own gold-emblem icon across the site — in the Games menu and the games browser — replacing the plain monochrome glyph. Under the hood this also fixes a sizing quirk so any full-colour game icon renders crisply from now on.

  12. v1.13.0 — Header, refined 💗

A polish pass on the new header. The logo now floats free of any tile, the search shrinks into a quiet little icon that sits neatly in the nav bar, and the account menu is retuned to its cleaner design — a tidy identity header, flat grouped links, a set-apart 'Staff tools' section for moderators, and a clear sign-out.

The Games menu also gets tidier: each game's name now sits centered under its icon, so longer names like World of Warcraft and Silkroad Online fit perfectly instead of crowding the panel.

  13. v1.12.0 — A header worth the top of the page 💗

The site header is reborn as three floating islands — a bigger logo, a joined-up navigation dock with a subtle pink outline, and a redesigned account menu — all sitting over the hero with the new design language.

New: a Games menu that drops a tidy 3×3 grid of game icons (paginated), each jumping you straight to that game's servers; and a cleaner account dropdown for every role (player, promoter, staff) with the gold 'Book the Spotlight' shortcut for owners. Under the hood, both dropdowns now share one keyboard-accessible engine.

  14. v1.11.0 — Depth and definition 💗

The page gains a subtle plum depth gradient so cards stand off the background, every swept control now wears the proper tier colours (not just the shape), the toggle switch gets its v2 (mini-button thumb, clearly visible when off), dashed outlines slim down to a whisper, and all chips join the 12px family.

  15. v1.10.1 — Properly, this time 💗

The full enforcement pass the last release promised: every button-shaped control now shares the 12px shape and every card surface is clean and borderless at rest — 22 more controls and 136 more surfaces brought in line, verified element-by-element.

  16. v1.10.0 — Every pixel in the family 💗

Polish across the whole component language: cards go clean and borderless, every button shares the same shape, the toggle switch joins the new theme (pink-lane when on, orb thumb), avatars match the buttons, and a full-codebase sweep brought the last stray surfaces into the shared design system.

  17. v1.9.0 — One component library, no imposters 💗

Under-the-hood consistency release: every button, card and control across MMOLove is now a genuine consumer of the shared Bento component library — a duplicate button system used across 14 dashboard surfaces is gone, destructive actions get a proper red-outline tier, and outbound-click tracking is guarded against phantom prefetch hits so 'visitors we sent' stays honest.

  18. v1.8.0 — Buttons with better manners 💗

The primary call-to-action gets its redesign: a rich pink-lane gradient with soft light text replaces the loud solid pink — still unmistakably the button, now in-family with everything around it. Secondary, ghost and outline buttons now match the profile page's recipes exactly, and cards gain subtle gradient lane variants (player-blue, pink, gold, mint) drawn from the referral card's language.

  19. v1.7.0 — One language, everywhere 💗

The clean Bento look from the server profile is now the site-wide component language — every button, card, field, chip, alert and modal across MMOLove speaks it.

What you'll feel: flatter, calmer buttons with the pink reserved for the one action that matters; the round neumorphic icon buttons everywhere they belong; blend-in frosted cards with true whisper borders; flat, quiet form fields; and a refined modal with a proper Cancel / Save footer.

Under the hood: one canonical token set (three duplicated copies collapsed), a real CSS bug fixed — the design's subtle borders and dimmed text were silently not rendering — and zero component API changes, so the whole site inherited the upgrade at once.

  20. v1.6.0 — Straight to the good stuff 💗

Founder-feedback polish on the new server profile, plus a cleaner path to it.

Profile: the two columns now match height (no more clipped left pane), the hero banner fills edge-to-edge (wide image, no letterbox), the Visit website button is front-and-centre in the pane, and the Discord card gets a subtle Discord-blurple nod.

Getting there: clicking a server card on Games or Discover now takes you straight to the full profile — the old popup is gone.

Under the hood: /gamename now routes into the games browser filtered to that game, with the per-game write-ups and FAQ carried across so nothing's lost.

  21. v1.5.0 — A page that's yours to shape 💗

The server profile page is reborn as a Facebook-style page — a polished promo for players and visitors, and an inline-editable surface for owners.

New Bento cards throughout: a consolidated hearts + vote card, an editorial hero, a loyalty ring, a share-forward referral card, a Discord community card, and owner-only analytics + plan cards — plus a floating owner dock. Three tailored views (anonymous · logged-in player · owner/moderator), fully responsive across mobile, 1K and 2K.

Hearts and rank stay real — never fabricated, never editable. Owners see every card (with 'set this up' prompts for what's empty); players and visitors see only what's configured.

Owner edit modals for description / media / Discord land next.

  22. v1.4.0 — Polished to a shine 💗

Refinements to the redesigned server pages, from live review.

    For players

    • Give a heart is now a clean heart button that pops open the vote form.
    • Tidier action buttons; the referral card fits neatly in the rail.

    For server owners

    • The floating management dock is easier to spot.
    • Edit your server's name, slogan and tags right from the page (the Overview pencil) — no trip to the dashboard.

    Static/ISR + SEO preserved · 2745 tests green.

  23. v1.3.0 — A page worth showing off 💗

Every server profile page gets a full redesign — a cinematic hero and clean, calm cards (in the new Bento design language) that let each server shine, with an honest Powerup vs Free story.

    For everyone

    • Redesigned server pages: cinematic hero, frosted cards that blend beautifully, and a clearer promo layout.

    For server owners

    • A floating management dock + hover-to-edit pencils, so you can manage your listing right from your page.

    Fixes

    • Owner tools now only appear on servers you actually own.
    • Layout polish (wider, cleaner hero, aligned chips).

    2738 tests green · static/ISR + SEO preserved.

  24. v1.2.0 — Manage from anywhere 💗

Your server's page is becoming its home base. 💗

Owners and admins can now manage a listing right from its public page — a new Manage this listing strip under the hero, plus a slim Manage · ⌘K command bar to jump to any section (or search) from anywhere on the page. Unclaimed servers now show a clear, low-key "Unclaimed listing · claim it →" prompt that leads straight into the claim flow.

For everyone else, the page stays exactly as fast and search-friendly as before — all the management chrome is invisible unless you own or moderate the server.

This is the frame; more management tools roll out from here.

  25. v1.1.0 — A home for every server 💗

    ✨ Server pages, reimagined

Every server now has a rich, full profile page — a bold hero, a screenshot-ready gallery, the full description, live hearts, and the key actions front-and-centre: Vote, Share, Visit website, Join Discord. Signed in? You'll also see your referral link and your loyalty streak for that server.

🔗 Share a server in one tap

A new Share button (native share sheet on mobile, copy-link on desktop) plus a "View full page" link from the games browser — so sending a server to a friend is effortless.

💗 Groundwork for the Server Hub

This lays the foundation for the upcoming unified Server Hub, where owners will manage their listing and moderators will moderate — all from the same page. The public page stays fast and SEO-friendly.

Also in this release: the subagent model-routing policy for our internal tooling.

  26. v1.0.8 — Welcome-flow fixes 💗

A few fixes to smooth out the new welcome flow, from early testing. 💗

"Find your perfect game" lands you in the right place. Picking a matched game now opens the games browser with that game already selected, so you go straight to its servers.

Signing up to promote a server drops you into setup. Choosing the Promoter path now takes you right into the server-setup wizard instead of back to the homepage.

Plus behind-the-scenes moderation tooling and tidying.

  27. v1.0.7 — A warm welcome 💗

A warm welcome for everyone who lands on MMOLove — this release adds a guided first-run experience and a few new ways to show your favourite servers some love. 💗

New players get a proper welcome. Sign up and you're greeted by a friendly walkthrough that helps you pick between playing and promoting, find a game that matches your taste, and jump straight to supporting a server you already love.

Promoters get a cleaner setup wizard. Listing a server is now a calm, four-step flow with a progress rail so you always know where you are — details, tags, plan, then a "what's next" hub.

"Servers I've loved." Your profile now has a new tab showing every server you've hearted, with your loyalty level and streak for each — a home for the servers you keep coming back to.

Grab your referral link right from a server page. Logged-in players now see a quick "share your referral link" card on any server, so it's easier to bring friends along.

Can't find a server? Suggest it. If a server you love isn't listed yet, you can now suggest it during onboarding and our team will take a look.

Plus the usual polish and behind-the-scenes tidying.

  28. v1.0.6 — A lovelier way to give a heart 💗

A redesign of the bit that matters most — giving a heart. 💗

    • A redesigned vote pop-up. Voting now opens a clean little card with the server's identity, your in-game name, and one-tap Visit website and Discord links right where you need them.
    • A heart that celebrates. Land a heart and it lands with a little thump — and a subtle heartbeat now runs through the hearts across the site.
    • Visit, right after you vote. Once your heart's counted, the server's website becomes the obvious next step, so it's easy to jump straight in.
    • A friendlier vote button. Fixed a case where "Give a heart" could get stuck — it now always tells you what's happening (checking you're human, a quick retry, or "come back tomorrow") instead of sitting there.
    • A faster site, again. More behind-the-scenes speed work — a lighter sign-in and more pages served instantly.

As always: hearts are earned, never bought. 💗

  29. v1.0.5 — Dashboard polish & a faster site

Dashboard polish & a faster site

    • For server owners: the Media tab now previews your listing card exactly as players see it — standard and Powered-up — and the Spotlight tab explains itself at a glance, with a live "what winning looks like" preview and how the daily global slot works.
    • A tidier "list your server" flow.
    • Plus a wave of behind-the-scenes speed and efficiency work. 💗
  30. v1.0.4 — A fresh new look 💗

The biggest refresh since launch — MMOLove has been redesigned from the ground up. 💗

    • A new look, everywhere. Every page now follows one consistent, animated design language, with a fresh steel-blue + mint palette.
    • A rebuilt Games browser. A bolder daily Spotlight, a "Trending this week" strip, real 7-day risers, and a cleaner way to explore and open any server.
    • A "For You" feed. When you're signed in, a new personalised feed surfaces servers we think you'll love — kept separate from the honest main rankings.
    • A redesigned dashboard & profile. Owners and players get a clearer home — a new identity header, grouped navigation, and every tab refreshed.
    • Clearer Heartkeeper. Our free Discord bot is easier to understand at a glance, with Powerup bonuses spelled out plainly.

As always: hearts are earned, never bought. Rankings stay honest. 💗

  31. v1.0.3 — Under the hood

A small under-the-hood maintenance release — we fixed our analytics pipeline so we can properly see how MMOLove is being used and keep making it better. Nothing changes visibly for you this time. 💗

  32. v1.0.2 — Polish & promotion

A round of visual polish and a clearer pitch across the site.

    • Games now have icons. Every game in the catalogue gets its own clean, minimalist icon — easier to scan as you browse.
    • A sharper homepage carousel. The rotating highlights now read like quick feature spotlights — Heartkeeper, the Powerup, getting your listing seen — instead of plain notices.
    • A home for Heartkeeper. Our Discord bot has its own page (and a spot in the menu) spelling out what it does for your server's community.
    • Easier reading. The info pages — About, How it works and friends — got more breathing room between sections.
    • No more blank spaces. Servers and articles without their own art now show an on-brand placeholder, and blog posts get proper social-share cards.
    • Under the hood. Behind-the-scenes analytics and search-engine improvements.

    💗

  33. v1.0.1 — Launch polish

▎ A small follow-up to launch — the first round of polish from our design review. ▎ - New servers feel new. Pre-launch and brand-new listings now show an inviting New instead of a bare "0 hearts". ▎ - Cleaner listings without artwork. Servers that haven't uploaded a logo get a tidy monogram tile rather than a placeholder block. ▎ - A clearer Join screen. Account sign-up now leads with one obvious next step. ▎ - Better on phones. The Games page drops you straight to the rankings — the category menu tucks neatly out of the way. ▎ ▎ Thank you for being here at the start. 💗

  34. v1.0.0 — Hello, MMO Love 💗

MMO Love is live — the home for fan-run game servers, ranked by real player hearts and never by paid placement. Here's everything in our very first release.

    For players

    • Discover servers across every game — a fast two-pane catalog with category filters, search and infinite scroll, plus a global all-games leaderboard and weekly/monthly boards per game.
    • Give hearts — one tap to back the servers you love. Hearts are real votes from real players; ranking can never be bought.
    • Loyalty that lives where you play — per-server vote streaks (daily, monthly, longest), a loyalty score, levels and ranks for each server you support.
    • Your PlayerHQ — track your hearts, streaks and followed servers in one place, and tune your interests so recommendations fit your taste.
    • Sign in with Discord — one click, no password.
    • Refer your friends — share your personal code and bring players to the servers you love.

    For server owners & promoters

    • List your server free — submit in minutes; every listing is reviewed before it goes live.
    • An owner dashboard built to grow — daily hearts, top voters, counted-vs-flagged insight, and a listing-completeness checklist that shows exactly what to finish.
    • Powerup — our premium upgrade: an editable banner, deeper analytics and the Powered up badge. Manage or cancel anytime (stays active to the end of your billing period).
    • Spotlight — bid for featured placement on the homepage, daily and monthly, with a live calendar and outbid/won alerts.
    • Tell your story — rich-text server descriptions and a media pack for banners and trailers.
    • Bring hearts to your site — drop in an embeddable vote widget and the "Never Paid" trust badge, with share-ready cards.
    • Heartkeeper for Discord — our bot announces milestones, surfaces standings and helps moderate across all your servers, configurable from your dashboard.
    • Keep your community in the loop — your voters are kept informed of your server updates.

    Trust & transparency

    • Real hearts, never paid placement — our founding promise, spelled out on a public methodology page and a transparency report.
    • Honest by design — About and How-it-works pages, strict canonical/SEO discipline and rich structured data so you're found for the right reasons.

    For developers

    • Referral & reward kit — signature-verified webhooks (HMAC), a referral events API and an OpenAPI 3.1 spec.
    • SDKs in your stack — official libraries for JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP and .NET (C#).
    • Full docs — a dedicated docs site covering the Referral Kit, reward callbacks and badges, with multi-language guides.

    The look

A brand-new MMO Love identity throughout — our pink/cream/plum palette, Orbitron + Armata type, a refreshed logo and a redesigned, dark-first dashboard.

Thank you for being here at the very start. Go find a server to love. 💗

    • New Games browser with category filters and a global, all-games leaderboard.
    • Per-server vote streaks, loyalty and ranks.
    • Owner dashboard: top voters, daily hearts, and counted-vs-flagged insight.
    • In-app Powerup cancellation (stays active until the end of your billing period).
    • Honest-hearts trust pages and richer structured data for search.
