What's the difference between Pre-Renewal and Renewal?: Pre-Renewal uses Ragnarok's classic stat and damage formulas and leveling; Renewal is the modernised system with reworked mechanics, zones and balance. Servers usually offer one or the other (some both).
What is War of Emperium (WoE)?: WoE is Ragnarok's signature guild-vs-guild siege: guilds fight to capture and hold castles during scheduled times — the heart of endgame PvP.
What do 'rates' mean in RO?: Rates are the XP, drop and other multipliers. Low rates (x1–x10) reward a slow, social grind and economy; high rates rush you to endgame WoE and MVP hunting.
Are Ragnarok Online game servers free?: Yes — playing and voting are free. The healthiest servers keep their cash shop cosmetic or convenience-only rather than selling power.
